The Holidays Are Amongst Us

It’s the holiday season...time moves fast! This is the time of year when we're drawn together with our families, friends and the people in our lives that we love. We make new memories and we remember times past. Love. Family. Support. All of these evoke the kind of memories and emotions that I like to call “keepers” —the times in life that carve out a niche in your heart.

The same thing can happen with a good story, a romance, mystery, fantasy, whatever type of story your enjoy. You picture so vividly the characters and setting. You live and breathe what they do, letting the story sweep you away. And when you get closer to the end, it’s like saying goodbye to old friends, but the memory lingers. Who can forget LaVryle Spencer’s November of the Heart….whether Lorna would choose a relationship with Jens? The anticipation and emotional pull of their journey kept me turning the pages.

Have you read a book that stayed with you well past the last page? Or left a memory with you that makes you want to read the story again?

I completely agree! I recently read "The Host" by Stephanie Meyer and was surprised that in a book about aliens (of all things) I got pulled in by the love/friendship story throughout. I read those 600+ pages like lightning. Can't wait to read 'A Daughter's Promise'.
